Christ Reconciling the World to himself
Science and religion have
overlapped each other so much that Christ’s existence on earth has been
challenged very much in explaining the humanity of Jesus. Science, we know is a very practical scheme
of study and anything that cannot be experimented is believed to be mere myth
of the history. For a person to
understand Jesus Christ’s humanity and divinity, it takes an eye of faith,
wisdom and reason. I can say that if a person understands himself or herself
using the beauty of conscience, it is very easy to understand Christ. In the
world today, humanity is challenged by the issue of gender, sex. Upright
feminists might say why females should waste their time to know about Jesus who
is a male and men folk may personalize Jesus because of his manhood. A central
question to pose here is “Do I know what makes up a human person?” If humanity
can answer this question with truth, love and wisdom, the world can be a better
place to live. This essay will discuss three main points pertaining to the topic
of understanding the humanity of Jesus. Firstly, the Earth is the living model
of Christ humanity. The second point will be “Individuality and personality”
and “lastly Jesus and humanity”.
Earth
the living model of Christ humanity.
The structure of the universe
unifies with the structure of the body of Jesus and human beings as well. The earth is divided in the Northern
Hemisphere and Southern hemisphere. In Christ’s human body that is reflected by
the upper nature (individuality) and lower nature (personality). Individuality
refers to the things Jesus inherited from his genetic makeup from the unison of
the forty-six chromosomes from his parents (Mary and his spouse the Holy
Spirit), for instance the will power and the intellect. The personality is
those attitudes he developed from the way he was raised by his parents and
adopted from the environment, for example the custom, relationship with people
and gender, he was a Jew. The earth is
further divided by three circles; the equator, tropic of Capricorn, and the
tropic of Cancer, which is reflected in the human body of Jesus the three
concentric circles which shows the relationship between the higher and lower
nature; atmic, buddic and casual. The atmic body represents the divine strength
or power which was reflected through his physical body; will and strength (Master Omraam,
Marriage a Universial symbol,The living Nature, 2002). An example in the gospel of John can be found
in the parable of the cleansing of the temple (John 2:13-22). The Buddic
circle of Jesus is the soul with all the elevated feelings of love, sacrifice
and goodness. Jesus demonstrated that the buddic circle of his humanity be
letting the children go to him even though he was tired. The casual circle or body of Jesus is the
vehicle of the far reaching brilliant thoughts which manifested through the
intellect of Jesus. In the ministry life of Jesus he challenged the Pharisees,
the Sadducees using these circle of his makeup.
Individuality and
Personality
Even though the universe is
divided into the different regions it is the only one universe, thus there is
always a relationship between the different regions. Similar things are found
in the humanity of Jesus; like for example, truth is the fruit of the spirit
found in the Atmic Body but all the other circles of the humanity of Christ
used the truth for the fulfillment of the ministry of Jesus on earth. Love is
the fruit of the Soul, and soul is the substance of the buddic circle. Wisdom
is the seed of reason; reason is the substance of the casual body. This is when
we are talking about the upper nature or the individuality. However, these
things or the individuality would have never been exercised by Jesus if the
lower nature or his personality did not exist. In the hemisphere of personality
Jesus possessed the mental body, the Astral body and the physical body. These sub-bodies’ fruits are the intellect,
the heart and the will. And the seed of the intellect is seeking. The seed of
the heart is asking and the seed of will is knocking. Only with the existence of the personality
Jesus was able to show the presence of the upper nature or the individuality. Conscience
is the makeup of the separated the upper and lower nature of Jesus. In the
universe we can say that the conscience is reflected by the equator. The
conscience helps Jesus to judge the morality of his actions. It does not mean
that the personality or the lower nature is bad, but they should not be active
because the active they were the destructive they would have been. Thus, Jesus
kept the individuality or the upper nature active and kept the personality
dormant. The cleansing of the temple is a classic example which clearly
demonstrated the use of personality and the individuality of Jesus. Jesus made
his personalities active in situations which the higher nature is not
applicable. In the “Cleansing of the temple” John 2:12-22, Jesus
went to his father’s house to pray but upon his arrival he saw the sellers.
Imagine yourself in similar situation; would you be able to use truth the seed
of spirit there? No, the situation in
the cleansing of the temple is a physical situation, thus Jesus has to the
physical body specifically the will power.
The concept can be clearly
explained by the saying “Do the right thing, at the right time, at the right place.
Jesus and Humanity
Christ is the bridge between God
and humanity because he is both God and human.
Humanity is said to be made in the image of God and not the so much of
our makeup is like the likeness of God.
Image means that everything in term of the individuality which Christ
possess, we too do posses them. However, not so much on the likeness as said by
many people. Because if we were completely made in the likeness of God, this
earth would have all the saints living and there will be no sin. God’s destiny
for humanity is salvation which Christ demonstrated through the passion, death
and resurrection. God made humanity in his own image thus there not reason for
humanity to go to hell after death.
The only thing a person has to do
is to know him or herself and see the beauty of how God created oneself. Only
through self awareness the humanity will flourish once again and stability will
be renewed. It takes the fear of God and the love of wisdom with meditation for
humanity to understand the beauty of life.
It is not hard to live a perfect life on earth. The problem humanity has
is shallow mindedness, and that is the problem which is intoxicating the
universe today. Humanity is seeing Christ as a mere historical creature that
has nothing to do with the present world.
Summary
It takes a person to understand
himself fully in order to understand the humanity of Jesus and the extent of
his manifestation he has over the universe and the humanity. Most of the things
or issues that are challenging the world today like gender issues can be easily
addressed by humanity. The answer to all the challenges is the fear of God and
the love of wisdom. This can be possible through Jesus Christ because he is the
bridge between God and humanity. Humanity of Jesus is divided in to the upper
(individuality) and lower nature (personality) by the conscience and these two
spheres are further divided into six types of bodies, namely; Atmic, buddic,
casual, mental, astral and physical. All these components make up humanity of Jesus
and our humanity is thus the same. The substances of these bodies are spirit,
soul, reason, intellect, heart and will and the seeds of these fruits are;
truth, love, wisdom, asking, seeking and knocking. All these things have a role
to play in the perfection of human body. Jesus lived a perfect life with all
these makeup, what about humanity? The upper nature (individuality) of a human
person and Jesus are components like spirit, soul and reason which we inborn as
the result of the unison of the 46 chromosomes of our parents. With the
existence of the lower nature (personality) the higher nature component cannot
be effective. Everything in Jesus and the humanity has a role to play in the
process of perfection for the humanity. The well-known saying “do the right
thing at the right time at the right place” is the answer to perfection. It is
our duty to view Jesus as a role model in order to understand the beauty of
life as demonstrated by Jesus through the Paschal mystery that is the passion,
death and resurrection. Science and Faith can be easily unified if humanity and
the earth and on the other hand Jesus and humanity are continuously integrated.
“When there is light in the soul, there is beauty in the
person. When there is beauty in the person, there is harmony in the home. When
there is harmony in the home, there is order in the nation. When there is order
in the nation, there is peace in the world.” (Ancient Chinese Philosophy).
This philosophy will help explain what is meant by understanding oneself in
order to see the beauty of the humanity of Jesus.
